Job Description
This is a full-time procurement/category management position involving the procurement and quality control for our produce lines or items as assigned in the produce category. Will oversee all aspects of produce in the Kenosha, WI distribution center, coordinating produce category management with produce director in corporate office. Additional responsibilities include managing weekly pricing, input on ads and products as well, negotiating prices/procurement with vendors for best quality and pricing. Will be expected to procure goods at the lowest cost while providing exceptional service levels with balanced inventories. Must be able to work with buying team and merchandisers to accomplish procurement goals and service levels. Will be expected to negotiate for the maximization of marketing funds, accrual programs, truckload buys, forward buys, invoice protection, extended terms, and new item introductions. Will meet with vendors to discuss product lines and opportunities. Will be expected to assist with warehouse operations such as inventory and quality control of both inbound and outbound produce. Also be willing to assist with special or seasonal projects.
