Job Description
I. Basic Function Develops, plans and executes weekly advertising plans in cooperation with the Regional Merchandising Center (RMC) for all advertising groups within the distribution center. Insures that all product groups are included and meet local consumer interest. Responsible for insuring that the advertising created is generally regarded as the best ad in the marketing area. .

II. Essential Duties Manages the development of weekly advertisements for all advertising groups.

Proof reads all advertisements and provides the final approval for release.

Maintains timely communication with the Image Center on advertising jobs.

Routinely meets with local advertising group retailers for advertisement support and feedback.

Makes and implements advertisement suggestions and special promotions to grow retail sales.

Works with individual retailers on specific advertisements or promotional needs and requirements such as Grand Openings, Anniversaries, and competitive situations.

Develops, grows and manages direct store delivery (DSD) of products for all advertising programs. Negotiates with DSD vendors for weekly advertising promotions.

Insures DSD vendor billing and payments for all advertising support.

Works with RMC to maximize the Vendor support of TPR program. This would include DSD where applicable.

Insures that store brands “Compare and Save” program and signage is being maximized by all advertising group stores.

Manages all retail suggested price zones.

III. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or other related field or equivalent combination of education and/ or experience

5+ years Advertising experience, preferably in the wholesale food distribution environment. Retail supermarket experience with 3-5 years as a Store Manager or owner, preferred

Exceptional oral and written communication skills with experience in the area of negotiating. Good mathematical ability and reasoning
