We are currently seeking a Director of Distribution for our Westport, IN Distribution Center. The Director of Distribution is responsible for Divisional Distribution Operations including, but not limited to, receiving, storage, shipping, delivery, personnel management and maintenance activities. The Director is responsible for ensuring that distribution operations are managed effectively, productively and cost effectively.
Duties: (not inclusive)
•Oversees and directs distribution operations activities including, but not limited to, warehouse transportation, maintenance, reclaim (where applicable) and facilities. Ensures facility compliance with governmental or other regulatory laws and guidelines including, but not limited to, OSHA, EPA, FDA, Department of Agriculture, FCC, and DOT.
•Responsible for the Distribution Operations P & L cost centers including, but not limited to, expense and capital budgeting, planning, inventory (asset & product), cost controls, revenue and productivity objectives, and operational execution.
•Responsible for the accurate recordkeeping and timely submission of reports as required including P&L, DC Scorecards, productivity and metrics reporting. Recommends all equipment purchases and other capital expenditures.
•Accountable for adherence to established division, regional and corporate controls, practices, processes, procedures and policies. Maintains strict compliance with corporate sanitation, risk management and asset management programs, and audit expectations including, but not limited to, safety, training, facility and inventory, security, proper utilization and maintenance of material handling and transportation equipment.
•Responsible for the hiring, termination, training/development and management of all Distribution operations personnel according to established Corporate and governmental policies, procedures and practices.
•Responsible for the development and execution of facility planning including, but not limited to, productivity, staffing, seasonal, capacity, etc.
•Maintains expected and established service metrics for all customers including, but not limited to, on-time delivery, selection and inventory accuracy, cost per case and product damage.
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree preferred.
•10+ year’s distribution management experience with 2 to 5 years at a director level.
•PC skills, knowledge of EXE or similar warehouse management system.
•Excellent leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral/written communication, organizational, prioritization, problem solving skills. Strategic and organizational agility and excellent business acumen.
