King Road in San Jose, California. Mi Pueblo now has 10 stores located throughout Northern California and continues to grow. Position Summary:
The Human Resources Manager performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, labor relations, affirmative action and employment equity programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: • Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations. • Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement. • Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints. • Represents the company for any unemployment claims. • Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce. • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs. • Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional and technical job openings. • Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job related requirements. • Maintains working relationship with Union officials and adheres to terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions. • Represents management in investigating, answering, and settling grievances, by arranging and scheduling grievance hearings between union personnel, supervisor and the Management team. • Responds to all EEOC and/or NLRB charges. • Conducts new hire orientation. • Performs other work-related duties as assigned. .
Qualifications: • Must have the ability to make recommendation to effective resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law. • Ability to organize and prioritize work. • A bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years in Human Resources Management and / or equivalent combination of education within the retail, hospitality, or service industry required.
• A bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years in Human Resources Management and / or equivalent combination of education within the retail, hospitality, or service industry required. • Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations is preferred. • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues. • Ability to research and analyze various different type of data information. • Must have the ability to make recommendation to effective resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law. • Very strong criteria thinking and problem resolution at both strategic and functional levels required. • Strong customer service orientation and strong negotiation skills a must. • Strong knowledge and understanding of business financials required (P&L statements, revenue, gross profit, etc.) • Proficient computer skills in the areas of e-mail, Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel, etc.) required. •Bi-lingual Spanish language is required.
