Job Description
Central Market, the destination shopping experience for “foodies” and wine enthusiasts, in Dallas is seeking a highly-motivated person for our Wine Manager in our premiere Dallas location at Lovers Lane and Greenville Avenue. This is the ideal opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in the retail wine business and desires to work for one of the most respected wine retailers in the industry.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high degree of product knowledge
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Oversee product ordering and inventory controls
- Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation and food-freshness regulations
- Taste wine and beer in a controlled environment to learn characteristics
- Educate customers on the differences in taste profile, pairings, etc. of all products in the department
- Provide Wine/Beer educational classes to customers and Partners
- Merchandising of department to maximize sales
- Responsible for developing departmental schedules
- Maintain multiple vendor relationships
- Interviewing applicants, training employees and appraising performance
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in the wine industry, preferably retail sales/operations, with a proven track record of success in building sales and customer service.
- A well developed working knowledge of fine wines, both imported and domestic
- Well developed written and verbal communications skills.
- Well developed time management and organizational skills
- Budget planning and analysis experience
- Flexibility and willingness to be a part of a team; cultivate and encourage teamwork
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
- Ability to delegate, organize and plan effectively
- Thorough understanding of retail accounting
- Proficiency with automated reporting systems including, but not limited to; Inventory, Food Cost, Scheduling, Time & Attendance and labor preferred
