Loss Prevention Investigator, Security, Officer
Reporting To: Loss Prevention Manager
Job Brief Loss Prevention Investigators are responsible for all Loss Prevention areas.
Position Responsibilities
Operate monitors, recorders, radios, DSD Computer, and alarms. Interact one on one or in groups with store employees and management to address Loss Prevention related issues. Investigate employee theft at the stores request; follow all policies and procedures related to the monitoring, apprehension and processing of individuals. Conduct investigations/interviews and obtain statements related to various crimes against persons and property. Conduct regular department inspections to observe loss prevention issues. Produce and accurately document legible reports and business correspondence including memos, notices, counseling forms, and signs. Conduct surveillance for claims investigators and work related injury claims. Represent the company at court appearances regarding civil and criminal cases. Conduct routine physical security checks and monitor parking lot activity to ensure proper night lighting. Maintain familiarity with all the receiving processes to assist in receiving warehouse when needed. Assist the department manager in training employees in the company method of performing department activities and individual job tasks. Complete additional assignments effectively, as directed by management. Ensure that efficiency procedures and PIP procedures are being followed consistently, review checklists, coach, and enforce adherence to established processes. Maintain strict adherence to security procedures, including key control, password security, etc. Ensure that all policies and procedures designed to protect the company's assets are followed at all times; communicate policies and expectations to employees; observe employee actions for compliance; take action as necessary to correct behavior. Discuss with management any personnel situations or policy violations that may have an adverse affect on department operating performance or any situations that may require disciplinary action. Keep the Store Manager and/or key staff members informed of any unusual or unauthorized activity in and around the store. Work to develop a friendly atmosphere and good morale in the department and store. Professionally deal with multiple customers and difficult situations. Identify customers needing assistance and respond directly or by getting the appropriate person to resolve conflicts. Handle the speed and pressure in response to the demands of the job. Maintain a clean and safe work and shopping area. Mental Processes
