Job Description
As a Product Demonstration Specialist on the Produce Team, you will be responsible for introducing products to customers and providing consumer product education. You will also have a responsibility to team leadership and regional support staff, to gather consumer information and opinions about the products. Demo Team Members must have strong food and food sanitation knowledge, possess excellent customer service skills and be flexible. The ability to cook a variety of vegetables and fruits is a must. In addition, Demo Team Members must be organized and well spoken.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Perform daily active demos as well as oversee passive demos.
-Ensure that demos are a minimum of 4 hours on the sales floor (set up, clean up, and paperwork time is additional).
-Sell product via samples, cooking/serving suggestions, and personal experience.
-Adhere to sanitation procedures when doing a demonstration and handling food.
-Educate customers and team members.
-Creatively merchandise demo product.
-Display marketing materials when available. Work with store artist to create signage.
- Follow Produce demo schedule as directed from regional support staff as well as work to create store-specific demo schedule. Communicate demo dates and needs to the team and buyer.
-Communicate with Regional Associate Produce Coordinator any in-store issues regarding product availability or changes in demo schedule.
Paperwork Responsibilities
-Submit monthly demo calendar to Regional Associate Produce Coordinator by specified deadline.
-Complete all paperwork neatly, legibly and thoroughly.
-Submit Product Demonstration Report to Associate Produce Coordinator within 3 days of completing demo.
-Complete inventory transfers (with wholesale prices, not retail) for all demo product used.
Additional Responsibilities
-Attend Produce Demo meetings
-Attend Sanitation & Food Handling Training
-Order demo supplies
-Maintain demo equipment
-Check and respond to email on a regular basis in an efficient manner as the position is intended to be focused on the retail sales floor.
-Perform all duties of a Produce TM

-Excellent verbal communication
-Strong food knowledge / passion for cooking. Basic to intermediate cooking skills a must.
-Personal sales skills.
-Aptitude for email applications.
-Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
-Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the store, including nights and weekends as required.
