Job Description
As a Sanitation Team Member you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order on the sales floor by washing windows, cleaning bathrooms and common areas, and sweeping the floor. You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Duties:
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the sales floor.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the customer and team member bathrooms.
Sweeping, picking up debris, cleaning up spills throughout the sales floor.
Regularly check the trash receptacles on the sales floor and empty as necessary.
Polishing the stainless steel on the sales floor on a scheduled basis.
Perform high dusting on a scheduled basis.
Clean, dust and empty trash in back offices at least once a day.
Answers customer questions.
Assist in keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing.
Clear and clean tables in the café area throughout the day and bring dishes/cutlery to dishwashing area.
Collect, consolidate and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
Follows and complies with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adheres to safe work practices.
Operates and sanitizes all equipment in a safe and proper manner.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Team Leader (Department Manager), Associate Team Leader (Assistant Department Manager), or Supervisor.
Intellectual Requirements:
Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
Knowledgeably communicate with the customer
Ability to understand the store's and the customers' needs.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members and leadership.
Ability to understand and properly use the cleaning products required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older and work up to a maximum of 8-10 hours per day.
Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break.
Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 65 pounds, unassisted
. Push and pull carts, weighing up to 100 pounds, unassisted
. Ability to visually see that something needs to be cleaned or polished.
Demonstrated proficiency in the proper use of a dumpster, baler, box cutters, and all related equipment.
Work Environment:
Environmental exposure: temperature extremes (coolers, freezer,outdoors)
Work in a moderately noisy environment.
Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete.
Other Requirements:
Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
