Job Description
As the Books, Cards, Magazines Buyer, you are a member of our Whole Body team. Your role will include ordering, replenishing, and merchandising Book, Card, Magazine products.
You will have some discretion regarding quantity and product selection, and will be empowered to source some products from local vendors.
Additionally you will work to maintain attractive Whole Body displays and supporting the regional Whole Body vision. You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Duties:
• Maintaining inventory & purchasing from numerous vendors.
• Maintaining magazine returns and new magazine rotation.
• Checking in, prioritizing received shipments, pricing and stocking products as well as delegating these duties to other team members.
• Understanding financial goals and "running" the business to meet budgetary goals including margins and inventory target.
• Ordering signs for promotions, and creating all aspects relating to merchandising, customer info and pricing for special displays.
• Training & informing team members about new products.
• Offering outstanding customer service at all times.
• Researching and creating relationships with new vendors as well as maintaining current relationships with numerous sales representatives.
• Assisting Regional Buyer with researching new lines and trends.
• Planning and maintaining shelf sets.
• Participate in all inventories
• Keeping the department looking fresh as well doing resets etc.
• Participating in product launches and other marketing events.
• Supporting entire Whole Body store, offering customer and team member assistance in every department.
• Supervising team members in a professional manner and upholding all rules and regulations as stated in "the GIG book."
• Supporting the front end of Whole Body including cashiering, assisting with returns, till maintenance, customer questions, phone inquiries, etc.
• Maintain the high standards of Whole Body, working closely with Team Leader sand leading by example when working with team members.
Requirements:
Minimum one year professional book, card and magazine experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of Whole Body products.
A desire to grow with the Whole Body Team.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
Ability to sell proactively and communicate effectively with customers.
Capable of teaching others in a constructive and positive manner.
A desire to learn about natural and organic foods and products.
Effective time management skills.
Strong work ethic and integrity.
Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds, unassisted and able to push and pull carts with product weighing up to 100 pounds.
Use of box cutters.
Use of electric pallet jacks or other heavy machinery.
