Team Leader is in charge of all sub -teams of Grocery (grocery, dairy, frozen, bulk) department. In charge of all daily operations of the department Make sure department is fully stocked and clean, orders are being placed on time. Create labor schedule leverage productivity of department, Interview, train, evaluate, counsel Team members. Must be self motivated and solution-oriented. Excellent merchandising skills and eye for detail. Good communicator and motivator, able to work well with others. Excellent Customer service skills, inventory control and maintenance of back stock. Flexible scheduling to meet needs of department, knowledge of basic computer skills. Complete special projects as assigned. Love and knowledge of natural foods. Reports to Store Leadership and Regional Grocery Coordinator team.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assume primary responsibility for Dairy and Frozen products and personnel.
3. Interview, select, train, evaluate, counsel and terminate Team Members.
4. Follow through on all customer questions and requests.
5. Create a labor schedule to leverage productivity within the needs of the department.
6. Ensure department orders for equipment, supplies and products are timely and accurate.
7. Keep all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated.
8. Follow established food safety, cleaning and maintenance procedures.
9. Maintain accurate retail pricing and signage.
10. Oversee sampling of department products to the customers.
11. Supervise and maintain special order system.
12. Be aware of new products and their placement.
13. Ensure that product is cross-merchandised with other departments.

26. Analyze and control product transfers, waste and spoilage.
27. Know and practice proper lifting techniques and safe use of all tools and equipment.
28. Practice proper care and maintenance of all equipment.
29. Report safety violations and hazards immediately; maintain department security.
30. Communicate with Team Members regarding all department operations.
31. Conduct scheduled inventories and submit reports.
32. Maintain a contribution margin equal to or exceeding regional averages.
33. Communicate company goals and information to Team Members.
34. Know product availability, preparation, storage and nutritional aspects.
35. Oversee adjustment of displays according to movement, promotions and profitability.
36. Keep Store Leadership informed of all events that affect the department.
37. Ensure that product mix meets varied customer dietary needs and requests.
38. Participate in regional and national sales promotions.
39. Have a firm understanding of department financials and labor budgets.
40. Accept and process product from Receiver.
41. Schedule and lead department team meetings; attend store and regional meetings.
42. Visit the competition on a regular basis and react to current industry trends.
43. Participate in Kiwi inventories when needed.
44. Perform Team Member duties as required to run the department.
45. Coordinate/supervise Grocery, Dairy, Frozen and Bulk products and personnel.
46. Regular attendance is essential.
47. Perform other duties as assigned by Store Leadership/Coordinator.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Must be self-motivated and solution-oriented.
2. Excellent merchandising skills and eye for detail.
3. Must have a current Serv-Safe certificate.
4. Ability to maintain good relationships with vendors and the community.
5. Good communicator and motivator; able to work well with others and convey enthusiasm.
6. Can train and inspire Team Members to excellence in all aspects of the department.
7. Love and knowledge of natural foods.
8. Is available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.
9. Knowledge of basic computer skills.
10. Associate Team Leader experience or equivalent.
11. In current position/location for at least 6 months.
12. Able to lift up to 40lbs unassistec.
Must have Store Team Leader approval.
Team Member must be in good standing.
Team Members with written active Corrective Counseling's must disclose this information to the hiring leader when they are applying for a transfer or promotion.
Team Members on an active Final Warning are ineligible to apply or be considered for transfers or promotions.
