Job Description
Manages, plans and leads the day to day activities of an individual retail food store ensuring profitable operation of all departments. Implements company merchandising and inventory programs. Schedules work loads; hires and trains store staff and resolves all store associate relations issues.

II. Essential Duties Responsible for the overall (P&L) financial performance of the store to include sales and expense management to the achievement of profitable goals.

Implements company customer service program to the fullest extent possible. Interacts with store's neighborhood or community to positively position the company’s presence.

Implements G.R.E.A.T. Service Programs to the fullest extent possible.

Establishes schedules to ensure good housekeeping and sanitation practices and ensures proper maintenance of equipment and facilities for a safe working environment.

Prepares quarterly and yearly budgets with Regional Manager. Maintains constant follow-up to ensure budget sales, gross profit and controllable expense goals are being achieved.

Implements and maintains work schedules, labor control and store payroll expense control programs.

Implements company merchandising and inventory programs.

Implements and maintains positive associate relations and benefits programs. Seeks assistance from Human Resources when necessary.

Performs staff management and administrative duties of: recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and disciplinary actions. Assists Regional Manager with establishing store goals and budgets as assigned.

Monitors competition regularly for pricing, variety, quality and merchandising.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Minimum of 5+ years of progressive retail grocery management experience required. 2+ years prior Assistant Store Director/ Manager grocery experience preferred.

Must communicate effectively with strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Must be highly motivated, good at multi-tasking, planning and organizing with experience in problem solving, decision making and resolving conflict. Working knowledge of computer and retail systems such as (MS Word & Excel). Depending on company location, able to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable. Must be results oriented to achieve budgeted sales and margins.
