As of December 31, 2005, the company operated 1,775 stores in the Western, South Western, Rocky Mountain, Midwestern, and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States and in western Canada. The Safeway Companies include Dominick’s, Vons, Pavillions, Carrs, Genuardi’s, Randall’s and Tom Thumb. In support of its stores, Safeway has an extensive network of distribution, manufacturing and food processing facilities.
